DEBBIE DOO'S MAGAZINE COPY CAT PARTY!!

I am so excited!! I finally finished a project in time to join Debbie Doo's Magazine Copy Cat Challenge!!!

For this party, you find something in a magazine and do your best to "copy" it!  Put your own spin on it of course, but she wants us to show our inspiration and what we did with it.

I used a picture I found in this month's Better Homes and Gardens.

It says here you can buy it for $35, but I made mine for under $10!!

 This is my version.  I had a much bigger vision, but.....  I got the wreath for $4 and the yellow flowers were on clearance for 25 cents!  But there were only 3 stalks :(  I wish there were more.  Instead of eggs, I used pears!  I got 10 in a box for $4.  5 yellow and 5 green.  I am going to use the green ones for a bowl in my kitchen.

Here is a close up.  I used yellow ribbon and made little knots with it to fill the center with yellow like the picture.

Hello all!!

What's On Your Work desk Wednesday!!  Thank you Julia for hosting!!

I met so many awesome people last week!  This is a really fun party!!

Here is my work desk this week.

Last week, I showed you my long desk.  This week, I thought I'd show you the small desk.  The "empty" space in front is usually for my computer (*snort* empty space!  I'm laughing my head off!  There is hardly any empty space!).  You see my Cuttlebug, my mini sewing machine, and my Cricut mini.  My notebook and papers on the left, my long stapler and some cloth and a stamp.  Continuing from left to right, an acrylic block, ink, scissors, and a glue gun.  Quite the mix of stuff, don't you think?  What the heck am I doing?

This is just a bigger picture, so you can peek at my studio a bit.  I plan on taking pics of the whole space and showing them on  my blog soon.  Like a studio tour!  This pic shows my ribbons, and my love affair with Ranger products!  Inks, stickles, and mists, oh my!  And above, you can see my Hello Kitty clock.  It might be hard to see from this view, but she is on the face of the pink sparkly clock.  You can click to enlarge the pictures.  And on the left, there is a peek at the corner cabinet that holds the Hello Kitty's, and some Hello Kitty stuff on top, and my white Hello Kitty pocket book is peeking out too!!

A NEW PARTY!

WHAT'S ON YOUR WORK DESK WEDNESDAY

I have seen many of you participate in this party and I love it!  Who doesn't like to look?  You know you want to....  Just take a peek into people's windows when you drive by at night.  Or when you get a gift and you can't wait to open it (so you don't wait, you open it and re-wrap it).  Who doesn't wonder what is really goin' on in someone's crafty space!  I'm sorry, I must confess I LOVE to look!  I LOVE it on some of your blogs that you have your gorgeous homes available for me to look at.  And when you have a re-done room and you share it with us, awesome!!  So this party is for us to show the world what is on our desk and what we are working on!!  

I am fortunate to have a nice size work space.  I am only showing a piece of counter here because it is where I am working right now.  Believe it or not, I just cleaned it!!  This is the straight on view.  I have cabinets above so I hung Hello Kitty lights and some paper lights so it looks like a party all the time!!

These are the projects I'm working on.  A birthday card, a collage and a journal. See?  Very messy artist!!

PINK SATURDAY!!

YAY!!!  I finally made it for Beverly's Pink Saturday Party!!!  Woo Hoo!

I am still enjoying my "vacation" with my guys, But I do have a pink tag to show off that I made.

SPRING BREAK

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend!  We had a great time!  And, this week is spring break for my boys so I have no time to be creative *tear*.  I don't mind though.  I love spending time with them!  The surprising part is that they still enjoy spending time with me!!!  I am surprised that it has lasted this long and I cherish it for as long as it lasts.  I hope it will be like this always!!!  Hope..... hope?  Hey, as mom's we have to take it when we get it, right?

So no creative things to show.  No home decorating done.  No big plans in the works.  Just spring break with the guys!  Large is having an old friend from NY visit for two days at the end of the week so small and I are already making plans to do things he likes.  Too much fun for me!!!

I hope everyone is having a fabulous week!!  I will be checking in with my blog list, catching up throughout the week.  Can't wait to see what you've been up to!!

HAPPY EASTER "PEEPS" !!

HAHA!  Get it?  "Peeps".  Like people?  get it?  *snort*.  Oh, I crack myself up!!!

OK.  So what a crazy week to get back to blogging!  I am doing my thing, catching up with all of you (if I haven't seen you yet I'm workin' on it) and I realize on Thursday that it is Easter on Sunday!  With all that's been going on, I lost track of time and haven't bought anything for Easter!!!!

My boys aren't "young" anymore.  They are young to all of us (12 and 15) but they aren't young like believing in the Easter bunny young.  That being said, I still make them baskets and hide eggs with candy and money in them.  We are dying eggs tonight too.  

I had to grocery shop, buy our Easter ham and all the trimmings.  Then buy stuff to fill the baskets with.  Candy, a video game each, a book each and other little things.  I almost forgot to buy grass for the baskets!  ugh, I was like a lunatic getting everything together.  But, I made it!  Almost 4 O'Clock on Saturday and I did it!!  AND, got a chance to make this blog post too!  HA!  I am very proud of myself indeed!! LOL!!

ANOTHER WEEK.....

...went by and I am finally blogging again!!

I was in bed for 3 days.  Then on the couch for another 2.  Coughing, running head, exhausted and that general all around yucky feeling.  And my 3 men were so wonderful and took such good care of me!!  They are awesome!!

They even bought me flowers.

That being said, I was so glad to feel better and get back to my life this week.  I thought the men would all go to school and work and I could catch up on the 238 emails I had.  But when I got up on a wonderful sunny Monday, I was stopped dead in my tracks.

OH MY HECK MY HOUSE!!!!

The men did "clean", if you could call it that.

They did a little wash (like 3 of 78 loads).

They did the dishes (if you don't mind having a bit of yuck in your cup).

They swept the floor (but not under the furniture).

They tried really hard I'm sure.

But I had to fix all of it!

Wash the surfaces, counters and tables. Get all of the junk off the tables.  Every surface in the dining/family room was filled with books, markers, water bottles, electronics, on and on.  I had to do the other 75 loads of wash.  Re-wash the dishes they didn't rinse before putting in the dishwasher. Wash the floors.  The list is endless.  And I will not, can not, even tell you about the bathroom, ugh.

They even spilled things in the refrigerator!  Was nothing sacred???

Maybe I am a bit OCD about things, but for me, no one can clean my house the way I can.  And because of that I couldn't rest until it was fixed.

So yes, now that I spent all of the last 2 days getting things back in order,  I can now visit all of you, and answer your emails, and do the things I love doing because cleaning isn't one of them.
