I was going to go shopping on Saturday, and I stopped off to get the mail first. And WHAT THE HECK!! CHECK OUT WHAT WAS IN THE BOX!!!
That is right! The bonus issue of Altered Arts Magazine!!
And who was in it?
ME!! Page 38!! "Christmas with Love Tag Book by Daniella Hayes!!!
I wrote notes in yellow on the picture of the Table of Contents!!
This is a picture of the picture that is the first page in my 4 page spread!! I made this tag book, for Christmas last year. Inside are tags, in little pockets. The tags can be used for so many things, like place cards, or package tags, even bookmarks!! The whole book was hand made and decorated by me!!
This is the second page, with my title on top, and of course my name!! And the materials and directions are there too.
BUT, if you want to see the rest, or learn how I did it, you are going to have to buy the magazine!! I can't "kiss and tell" LOL!!!
As you can see, I am as giddy as can be! What a fabulous weekend pick me up!!
Thanks for visiting! Hope you like what you see!!
PLEASE FORGIVE THE POOR PICTURES! I WAS PHOTOGRAPHING THE MAGAZINE,
***ALL PICTURES ARE PROPERTY OF ALTERED ARTS MAGAZINE!!!***
First, I know you have all seen this cabinet. I have it in the hallway by the powder room. It is such a lonely corner!! Not a lot of traffic. So that is why I picked this place to do my drawer.
Here is the drawer. I put a gold Christmas tree I've had for ages, and a pine cone and silver ornament. I added the red roses that I've had and my favorite ornament. My mother made the red ornament in the 1960's and it is still just as pretty today as it was over 40 years ago!!
NOW, the winners!!
Thank you all for your awesome comments! You are all amazing! I hope you enjoy these as much as I enjoyed making them!!
Since the party was supposed to be only 5 days, and I made a tag and ornament last Saturday too, I have picked 6 winners!
Congratulations ladies!! And ThankYou again!!!!!
PLEASE EMAIL ME YOUR ADDRESSES AS SOON AS YOU CAN!
How are we doing today? I'm great! I LOVE this tag!
I started by doing the paper napkin technique. I love the Christmas images on it. Then, I layered gauze that I colored with inks. Then flowers, a snap and a fabulous image from Dezinaworld. It is from the Christmas Children sheet. Aren't they so sweet!!
And of course, the matching ornaments!!
I am so happy you are visiting me and coming to my party! You are all awesome!!
This tag is so awesome, I think! I started with a mask that I put on my tag, and I used brick red ink all over the tag. I then added all of the goodies! Papers, lace, fibers and a ticket. But that awesome Santa looking through the window is from a sheet called
"Victorian Santa's" from Dezinaworld. Isn't he so sweet? Looking through the window! I love it!!
And the matching ornament! I love this one!!
I'll see you tomorrow! I hope you are enjoying my little party!
You were soooOOOOO nice on yesterday's post! I was so honored with all of your compliments! It made me feel really bad about telling you about my insecurity. I am so sorry about that ~~ you are all FABULOUS!!
The tag I have for you today is using the Christmas Angels image from Dezinaworld. I also used the word "Dream" from the word search sheet. This tag has lace, flowers, paper, a metal embellishment, ribbons and a bell!!
And here is it's matching ornament! I try to use papers that match the tag. And always pearls for the hanger!
This is the view from the top so you can see how it's made. It is all folded paper, which makes a round shape.
Hi! And thanks for visiting my "Tag-a-Day Christmas" Party!!! I will be giving away a tag every day this week, and a paper ornament (or 2). When my awesome friend Cindy Adkins talked to me about this idea, I was confused. People visiting my blog and me sending them stuff I made? Do you think people like my work enough to want it? Really? Believe it or not it never occurred to me!! I mean, I know you like me and my blog, but to want a piece of my work??? So I was so excited about this, and I got to work!! Cindy even made my button for me. If you would put it on your sidebar, I would be so honored!!! And if you don't know Cindy, please go check her out. She is so talented in so many ways, and she has a free course offered under her header on her blog.!!
Here is today's tag. It is about 6x4ish. I painted it with Twinkling H2O's first and used the napkin transfer technique to get frosty on it. I added some tiny cotton balls, a piece of sheet music from The Graphics Fairy, just a little bit. Then I used some of Dezinaworld's images from a sheet called "word search". It has tons of words that fit the holidays! Awesome!!!!
Then, I made 2 little ornaments to go along with it. I tried to match the colors, so it would be a set!
I hope whoever wins this set enjoys it!! There will be a new set every day this week so please visit me!! I am announcing the winners on Saturday!!!
I am also going to be linking up to the Graphics Fairy's Brag Monday!!
I want to thank all of you for your sweet comments and emails. You all make me smile! Thank you!
As you can "see" everything is fine and I am anxious to get back to blogging. Pink Saturday is the perfect way to jump back in with both feet! Please go visit Beverly, our awesome host!!
NOW, THE PARTY PART!!
I am having a "Tag a Day" party next week!! December 5-9.
I will put up a tag and an ornament every day next week. Next Pink Saturday I will announce the winners! The tags and ornaments I show every day will be given to one lucky winner each day. I am thinking about having a grand prize too. Please take by button, and visit me every day!! I think it will be so fun! What a fun way to spread Christmas Cheer!
Here is an example of the tags and ornaments I will send you. The tags are oversized, 6x3.5 inches. And the paper ornaments are just too cute!!
My extra large tag features a beautiful Santa, on top of an inked tag, paper, stamps, and inked gauze. I made a rolled flower from book paper for the bottom. The Santa and the star are both from the "Pink Santa" sheet from Dezinaworld. All of my tags will feature images from Dezinaworld's sheets. If you haven't checked them out yet please do!!
This is my little paper ornaments that go along with the tag! This one has a pearl top so you can hang it!
Again, thank YOU for being my blog friends!! You all ROCK!!!
Hope you will join me next week, and Happy Pink Saturday!!
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and/or weekend!!!
I have some Happy Mail this week, and one a few weeks ago. I love Happy Mail, don't you???
First, I swapped this ATC that I made a while ago for.....
This one from Sherry from Createology. The envelope was made from a piece of recycled wallpaper! She is so crafty!! And she wrapped this adorable ATC with the fibers and such that you see. Totally awesome! Thanks for the trade Sherry!!!
Then this beautiful mini book was inside!! Isn't it awesome? How did she know I have a slight addiction for little books? This one has tags inside the pockets. It is almost too pretty to use! But I'm sure I will find a very good use for it. Thank you Cheryl!!
Then, a fabulous long time friend sent me a box with these Yummy goodies inside!!! My friend Erica from Paper Craftin' with Erica has sent me so many awesome Hello Kitty's over the years. She is too generous. If she sees a Hello Kitty anywhere, she thinks of me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Erica!! You are awesome!!
The last piece of Happy Mail is from Cindy of Whimsical Musings. She is so FRESH!! How could she send me a parcel with
Don't open until December 25th!! She knows I can't possibly wait that long!!! It is too irresistible!! But, I've waited like 5 days so far. Do you think I'm gonna make it? I don't! Cindy's work is just too awesome! I will post it when I open it, which will probably be today!! LOL!!! Thank you so much Cindy!!
So that concludes the Happy Mail portion of this post. Now, on to the business part.
I have an appointment that will take me out of town for a few days. I HOPE to be visiting everyone later this week. I HATE thinking about leaving my blog unattended like this, but I have to. I promise, I will be back as soon as possible!!!
I hope you had a fabulous weekend. Mine was fine. My blog list is still missing, BUT, if I click on the specific post name, it appears below it!! How weird is that? This week I am going to try to copy them and put them in a new blog list gadget. I hope it work!!\
I made these really cute washcloth cupcakes for my kitchen. They are so easy to make! You just fold a washcloth diagonally and then roll it up. Add a rubber band to keep it from unrolling. Pull some of the rolled washcloth up (like frosting) and put it in a cupcake liner. EASY PEASY!!!
OK. Not a good picture, and not were they will go in my kitchen either, but I just wanted to show you how cute they can be in these little glass dessert trays.
Close up. I think it is so cute!!!
Oh come on! This is as cute as heck!!!
You could add a red lollipop to the top to look like a cherry!!
Did I tell you all that I finally settled on a color for my house? Not the walls and stuff. But the curtains and stuff. I picked BLUE and GREEN!!!
It is looking AWESOME with the brown walls. Can you believe that in my whole adult life I have never had blue in my house? I am loving it! I will take more pics to share with you. BUT, I think Christmas will be here first. Good thing I got all new blue and green ornaments!!!
Blogger still won't tell me my favorites. I know you all, and your names, but that doesn't mean your blog address, SO I seem rude and I am so sorry!!!!! I've been told that this should go away, just like how the followers come and go, but it is really making me mad!!!!! Grrrrr!!!
For my Pink Saturday piece, I choose some pink flowers that came in a bouquet from my husband (awwww!!). It is just some random flowers and they look so sweet!! This picture shows the pink baby's breath in the bouquet.
And a close up of the pink.
And, since I have these fresh flowers, I am attempting to press some from the book I won from Gabriela Delworth , who also wrote it!! I am sure that the flowers are too big, or that I did it wrong, but I put a bunch of flowers in there, and it takes 2 to 4 weeks to press them. It will be one week on Sunday, and as soon as they are done I will show you the results!! Wish me luck!! LOL!!
Thank you Beverly for hosting Pink Saturday every week!!
