I got wonderful news yesterday.  Remember the stacking boxes project I did?

I sent these pictures to Melissa Frances because they are made with almost only her products.  I got an email this morning telling me thank you for sending them the project and they were putting it on the Melissa Frances Blog!!  I was so excited that she liked it!  And her Senior Creative Director, Carolyn Peeler, wrote me such a sweet email telling me about the project going on the blog.  It is so nice to be appreciated and get such a thoughtful email.  Please go check out the  project and the lovely write up they gave me!!  Just click the link above.

And this is my work desk.  I have been sick since last week and have done nothing. ugh.  If I didn't write you back or leave a comment this is why and I am so sorry!!!!!  I promise to reply to each and every one of you this week!!!

Thank you for visiting!! Enjoy the rest of the party!!

TATTERED FLORAL CHALLENGE

Hello bloggy friends!!  If you are visiting from the awesome Julia's blog for WOYWW you are in the right place!  This week, I am showing my work desk and what I made too.  First, here is my desk.

I was really busy making my project for the Tattered Floral Challenge at Tim Holtz's Blog.

The challenge is to make a tattered flower using his Tattered Floral Die,   I am sure many of you  have already linked up!! He gives a whole amazing tutorial on his blog.  I followed it for the flowers, then added the flowers to a door knob hanger I made and embellished.

Here is my door knob hanger!
I followed Tim's process for making the Grunge Paper Flower.  I didn't have the tissue paper he used so I used Tissue Tape instead.  I then used a variety of shades of Distress Stain.  When it was dry I cut the tattered flowers out.

I sprayed some burlap with Dylusions Spray Ink and inked some Claudine Hellmuth Sticky Back Canvas and cut them with the die too.  Then I assembled the flowers and put a brad in the center.

(This is a close up of 2 of the flowers)
After "smooshing" my flowers I got busy with my door hanger.  I used my Distress Inks to color the cardstock.  Since gauze is my obsession, I had to put some on the door hanger.  I glued on the flowers, and added embellishments like Baubles, Metal WingsMemo Pins, and a Key.  I also added a "faux gold test lens"  I bought from www.stampington.com.

This is the flower that has the wings.

Please click any image to enlarge.

And there you have it!!  A very busy desk and a project to prove it!!

Now go and check out all the other productive desks out there!!  You know you want to "peek"!!!

BIG ROAD TRIP!!!

This is so exciting!!  My friend Marit is hosting a virtual trip to America!!  It is such a fun idea!!  She is stopping at all of the states for 2 weeks.  HERE are all the details.  It is a very clever idea.  She actually lives in The Netherlands, so "visiting" our country virtually is fun.

Since I live in New Jersey, she is "staying with me" for her visit here.  I took her all around New Jersey and my post for her party is posted today.  I wrote about the things we can do, and a lot of fun facts about New Jersey.  For example, did you know that Newark,, NJ is the city with the most stolen cars in the whole US! More than NYC and LA combined!!

I know you will love my tour of NJ so please go visit Marit and read all about "our" visit!!

CUTE OVERDOSE!!

This is a picture Marshall took with his phone of  our dog and cat on a chair together.

You have to admit they are soooo cute!!!

Kitty is the bully of my poor mini dachshund Zip.  Kitty is 5 years old and he smacks Zip  and tries to bite him all the time!  And then he gets in trouble for it because is is part evil!  One of his whiskers is black.  As you can see, there is no black on him.  I believe the black whisker is his badness.  I wonder if he would be good if I plucked it out?  Or do you think he would get meaner because 2 would grow back???
You know I'm kidding.  I wouldn't do anything like that!!! *wink*

My poor little Zip!  He is only 12 pounds!  Kitty is bigger than him and fatter too!  My Zip is a good boy.  He is 8 years old.  He is my shadow.  I can't move without him at my side.  He doesn't deserve Kitty's bullying!!

I don't know why they decided to sleep together for the first time ever, but they sure are angels when they sleep!!  And they are just too cute!!

HOW WAS YOUR WEEKEND?

I hope your weekend was awesome!  I have been so busy.  With the house renovation still going on (and it will be for months and months. ugh) and Design deadlines, I am running!!!

So, while my husband continues to prime a cathedral ceiling, I will show you a piece I made for Altered Arts Magazine

Since my usual photo taking box has something I have to fix in it, I put this clipboard in my spray box.  I think it is a fun place to take pictures and I think I will use it for that more often!!  I used  so many different things I don't know where to start!  I painted the clipboard and added papers, rubons and a transparency.  I then embellished it will buttons, some burlap and a flower that we got  when I started with Altered Arts from our sponsors Canvas Corp. and Prima.  The sprockets, gears, brick red ink and game spinners are Tim Holtz.  The paper, silhouette, and buttons are misc.

Whew!!  That was a mouthful!!
Thanks for visiting, and enjoy the rest of your weekend!!
