SIN CITY STAMPS SWATCH BOOK

Hi everyone!  Today I want to share a swatch book I made for Sin City Stamps.  I was trying to think of something to make and then I had a brilliant idea!  At least I thought it was brilliant.  I have a tall drawer thing that I keep my stamps in.  As much as I try to be organized, they are still a mess in there!!  So I thought what if I just start cataloging my stamps in a book, so when I am looking for something all I have to do is look in the book, and not through all of the drawers!  And the Sin City Stamps swatch book was born!!
I won't be embellishing all the pages.  I embellished these because it was a design team project.  But look!  Every stamp in the Rosette Hearts Set  is on these pages!!  The right has the background stamp and 3 small stamps and the left has the border stamp, word stamps and 3 more smaller stamps.

Is this an awesome idea or what?  I hope to do this for all of my stamps and while I do it I will  make a pile of stamps I don't want and give them to someone who really wants them!!

Thanks for visiting!  If you want to see my full tutorial, go to Sin City Stamps Blog and check it out!!
Have an awesome day!!

* FTC Declaration: In the spirit of full disclosure, I am currently working as a freelance designer in some capacity for Sin City Stamps.

WOYWW

Hello desk hoppers!  Thanks for visiting my blog today!!  You want to join us and know what the letters stand for?  Visit Julia and she will hook you up!!

I am showing my small desk and my wall organizer today.
This is the whole area.  My small desk, my wall organizer, and my Hello Kitty clock on the wall at the top.

My small desk is cluttered, as usual.  It has my new Cuttlebug, my little sewing machine, and my box of Alcohol Ink pens on top of the mini Cricut.  In the front is my art journal that is unfinished, some ribbon and lace, papers and paper frames.

I LOVE my wall organizer!  *click to enlarge* It has 5 shelves.  I will start at the top on shelf 1.  It has 4 dividers.  From left to right I have some spray inks, next is Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists, next are Ranger spray inks and last are Dylusions.  Shelf  2 is all glitter, micro beads and all of my Stickles.  Shelf 3 is Distress Stains and Distress Paint and other Ranger Paint Daubers.  Shelf 4 has Stewart Superior inks, Alcohol inks and Blending Soloution, Distress Crackle paint and embossing powders.  Shelf 5 is Ranger Distress Inks, Reinkers, dye inks, Archival Ink, Staz On Ink and Versamark ink.  The bottom holds spools of ribbon.

There it is.  A detailed explanation of my shelf!  And it seems like I am so organized but I am not :(  I have drawers and closets filled with so much stuff it would be impossible to use it all in my lifetime!  I will, eventually, go through it all and donate it to the library or the elementary school.  But not yet!!  I'm not ready to let go!  And the sickest part of this is I keep buying stuff!!  Don't we all?  At least I hope I'm not the only one!! LOL!!
Enjoy the desks!!

WOYWW

Hello Hoppers!  Thanks so much for visiting me for WOYWW!!  If you don't know what I'm talking about HURRY UP AND CLICK THE LINK!!

Here is my desk this week.
I am still taking the class with Claudine Hellmuth.  It has been so amazing!  She shows us one technique a day for 25 days.  5 weeks!  And she is "there" for us the whole time to answer questions and to comment on our photos.  She is so nice!!  The 2 tags on the table, by my badge, are from the "stenciling with gesso" and "gesso etching" techniques.   I am really enjoying this class!

I thank you very much for visiting me today!  Enjoy the desks!

ALTERED PAGES "GREEN" CHALLENGE

This month at the Altered Pages Challenge Blog the challenge is GREEN!

I made an altered tin/accordion album.  Green, of course!
I painted the tin with green paint.  Then,  I used a manila tag that has a glue marbling technique I learned at my Claudine Hellmuth Class.  The pretty lady image is from Altered Pages.  So are the 3 epoxy covered buttons on the lower right.  They are from the "Bottle Cap Script" collage sheet.  The top left has gauze, of course, and a piece of a broken bracelet with 3 mini roses on top.

Inside I accordion pleated green cardstock so pictures can be put in!  I love how this came out!!

Now, who will I give it to????

Have an awesome day and please join us at the challenge blog!!

SIN CITY STAMPS ART JOURNAL

Hello everyone!!  Today I want to show you how I used Sin City Stamps in my art journal.  I have been following along with Terri Sproul's Art Journal Group on Facebook.  Click the link to join us!!

This week. Terri showed us texture and a mistake on her live feed on Youtube.  Because of that good mistake, she used good mistake quote.

I started with my favorite journal, the old encyclopedia.
I used Gesso to prime the pages....

Then I used my Gelatos in yellow, gold and pink.  After I used water and a paint brush to blend them I....

Used my Splash Inks of course!  I love to use them in spray bottles!  In fact....

I keep them mixed and ready to go on my desk!  Right in between my Hello Kitty stapler and Hello Kitty head that has markers inside.

Where was I?  OH YES!  My art journal page!  I don't have any texture paste (it's in the mail) so I had to think of something.  Then I had a brilliant idea!  What about gesso?

I laid down thick areas of gesso on my pages.  First, I used my "Love of Butterflies" set to put the butterflies in the upper corners.  Then, I used my Art Journaling with Terri Sproul stamps, and used the numbers, flowers and diamonds. I inked my stamps with Stewart Superior pigment Ink in "Regal Burgundy".  I pushed them into the partially dry gesso and got that tactile texture!  And I love how the ink stayed on the gesso even though it was still a little wet!

When the gesso was dry I put some yellow Gelato on it.  Then I used the brick stamp from Art Journaling with Terri Sproul 2 on parts of the pages to give it visual texture too.  My quote is "Remind yourself that it's OK to NOT be perfect".  I think I need to remember that more often!

Thanks for visiting and don't forget Sin City has  a scratch off coupon for up to 40% off!
Have an awesome day!!
