ZENTANGLE #45 AND SNOW!!

Can you believe that I just had a  snow storm?  And it knocked out our power for over 24 hours?  I know I live in the north, but seriously?  The kids go out for Halloween tomorrow!!  With snow on the ground!  How the heck are they going to do that?  This is totally crazy.  I took some pictures to prove it to you!!!

This is a total blizzard!  We got 8+ inches!!

My poor pine trees!  Can you see that the branches are so heavy with snow that they are touching the ground?

Here's a close up.  It is really almost unbelievable!!

And finally, this is my Zentangle Inspired Art.  The challenge at  I Am The Diva was to try "New Tangle Punzel".  But the way to start is to do the pattern "Chainging" first.  Go to I am the Diva to see how it's REALLY done!!  This is my attempt.  The picture is a weird color because I took it in my living room 10 minutes ago.  I didn't actually edit it  The saddest part *tears* is I am to late to join the linky.  Stupid snow!!  Ruined it!!

PRETTY PINK PIECE IN A SHABBY FRAME!!

I loved these collage sheets I got from Dezinaworld.  Pink Elements and Faces 1.  They go so well together!  The pink elements sheet comes with 24 images, and the faces come with 15 face images.  They are on sale, so go check out Dezinaworld's blog.  June, the owner has so many awesome sheets for sale!!!  My fancy piece here is there from Monday and today!

All of the pink is from the Pink Elements sheet, except for the gauze, flower and  pearls.  And that ethereal face is from that Face sheet.  She is so serene.  I wonder what she is thinking about?

CREATIVE TUESDAY!

YES!!  I finally got to play along with one of my favorite groups!!  Creative Tuesdays!! 

The address has changed, so if you want to play along, click the link above.  The prompt this time was "Autumn/fall"  Mr. Toast, Creative Tuesday's very talented owner, wanted us to be specific to the theme.  In case we wanted to "sell" (*giggle* *snort* hiccup*  as if i ever would try to sell my sketches!!) or use as a seasonal card.  Now THAT'S a great idea!!  I have shrunk it and made a few cards from it already!!  Thanks for the idea Mmm!!!

               

So here is the fun part.  I got to play with my Copic markers!!  I haven't used them in like FOREVER!!  So I got to get fancy.  I used them to create a shadow across the front, and blend them for a strange fall leaf look.  I love coloring.

And the FUNNY (not fun) thing is that I attempted to make a real shadow, like from the light?  know what I mean?  Um.  the weird dark brown thing on the left side?  YES!   that bad banana looking thing.  I thought I would get all fancy and try this new thing that I've never done, and as I am not usually a drawing/sketching/painting type artist I figured it would be so EASY!!  Really Daniella?  

It looked good when it was just a pencil, but then I tried to go monochromatic with the shadow color.  Black would not have been very festive.    And each color I tried only made it worse.  So then I tried to make it into a leaf.  ??????  What?  You never saw a leaf that shape before?  me either.

So there you can see, a pretty good picture with a weird thing, that I AM STILL SO PROUD OF that I made copies of it for cards!!  See?  Although I am horrified with the weird brown thing, I am proud enough to send it to others!!  Weird, right?

ZENTANGLE #44

This weeks challenge at I am the Diva was "Weekly Challenge #44: "String Theory v. VI: Tangled on the inside"


So, I am a new tangler, and don't really know what the string theory is, but the picture the Diva showed was a picture that had zentangles on the inside.  That is my best zentangle inspired art!!  I  LOVE filling in drawings with the tangles.  So, although this may not be exactly what she was looking for, it also might be exactly what she was looking for!!

DEZINAWORLD GOODIES!!

I made these pieces from some awesome collage sheets from Dezinaworld!!  I am so lucky to get to use them!!

This one is called French Ephemera.  I used 3 of the images from the sheet.  Oooh La La!!!

Then, I used 2 of the Hearts sheet to make these charms.  I cut out the heart image, and applied it to a metal heart shape I had.  I covered the image with glossy accents.

Aren't they fun???

ZENTANGLE #43

This weeks prompt at I am the Diva for our zentangle this week was Sunflower fun.  In South Africa, on October 12th they have bandanna day which is run by the Sunflower Fund.  The Sunflower Fund supports the South African Bone Marrow Registry, helping people who have leukemia.  Here is my Sunflower (sort of?).

I got carried away with the leaves of the flower, and then went "oh no!!  Now I have to make tangles in all of them!!  I started by doing my take on an official zentangle pattern called "striping".  After I did that 20 times, I had to just do my own thing.  I also didn't  want to do too much, or it would look like a huge black thing.

PINK SATURDAY!!

Whew!!  I went in my craft room at noon, and was like "Oh No!!  I have to do something for Pink Saturday!".  I have this large tote box that has all of my finished work and something made me check it.  I opened the box, and there was a bag of work I haven't shown yet!!  ?????????  Where is my head!!!  don't answer that.

These 2 pretty pink tags were just sitting in there!!  I put them with my lunch box from a few weeks ago to make a sweet scene.

This one is 2 love birds, i think.  

And sweet flowers too!

Where does the time go lately!!  If I am this busy now, what will happen when the holidays approach? ugh!!!

I made these tags for Dezinaworld because it is that time of year.  Getting my tags made for the gifts I will be giving.  I always make my own tags.  I love giving a little piece of art with my presents!!

ZENTANGLE #42

I am so happy to have this Zentangle Inspired Art piece done!!  I didn't make the due date for last week's challenge at I am the Diva, so I am thrilled to make this deadline!!

Challenge #42 is "Hope".  This month being breast cancer awareness month, the word Hope means a lot to so many people.  Hope isn't only for breast cancer, Hope is for anything and everything.  We all need Hope to go forward in our lives, and faith.

I did my letter thing again.  Doing a pattern for each letter in the prompt.  But, I did 2 H's, Halfonion and Heartvine, and one O Oke.  I didn't have room for any more!!

WEBINAR!!!

As you know, I have been like a maniac lately!!  I've had 237 appointments, the flu, my 20th anniversary, sneezes, 2 birthdays, coughing, cooking, cleaning, a fever, and shopping.  In other words, I've been a wife and mom.  BUT, my creative outlet and this blog has suffered!!! I haven't been a very good blog pal!!  But, I'm catching up and I like that!!!

About a month ago, my fiend Cindy wrote 2 books!!  Really?  YES!  They are Blog from the Heart: A Woman's Guide to Blogging and Blogging: It's a "Woman" Thing.  And they are  really awesome books for someone who wants to start a blog, or for someone who wants to know more about blogging.  I gave them a 5 star rating on Amazon!!  Just click the links to check them out!!

But, she continues!  Last week, she started a "webinar" called Blogging 101.  Does this woman ever sleep??  And it is a great resource for all bloggers.  Here I am saying "but i am so cool, i've been blogging for like 8 months so i don't need this, but for Cindy i'll check it out.  since i graduated from being a newbie already like 2 months ago  THANK YOU DEBBIE!!!".

WRONG!!  These lessons that Cindy has laid out have more information than I thought existed!!!  Do you know that you have a ranking in google, and Cindy shows you how to find it!!  And how to see what is on the web about your blog, and it's content?  And how to create a blog post title that will have you as the first thing to come up in a google search?  HA!  I didn't know any of that.  She shows you how to do all of that and more!
