The prompt was "Short and Tall". So, the only "sketching" type thing I can even attempt to so is "doodling", I went with it.
I made a big bird outline, and a small bird outline. I gave the big bird LONG legs, made him "tall", and the small bird little short legs, "short". The large bird I doodled. Not tangled. Just areas of doodles going down the bird.
The small bird is "tangled". I made the grid of tangled lines first, and doodled inside next.
I am really happy with my sketchy birds!! Hope you enjoy them too. And go visit Mr. Toast's blog. the inspiration there is plentiful!!
Very cute! Sometimes it is fun to go back to the basics of black and white! :-)
ReplyDeleteexcellent line work
ReplyDeleteVery impressive, Daniella! These would make beautiful cards. I think I'm drinking too much coffee, because when I read 'short' and 'tall', I immediately thought of Starbucks!! ;)

ReplyDeleteBoy oh boy, your stetch has gone to the birds!! Those are neat. You could transfer those into paper collages, fabric, or embroidery. Good job 8D
ReplyDeleteWell you know, Daniella, I'm VERY happy with it too. it's a true labour of love and i adore not just the patterns in side each bird but the flowing script too. Very Parisian like. wonderful addition. one of your finest I'd say.TY so much for doing this for CT. :)
ReplyDeleteOh yes, they are great! And I know what you mean about doodling a lot in a sketch book and not really finishing -- I'm so guilty! I have pads from when I was in my teens that I still haven't used up. You also mentioned art journaling (as a comment on my blog) and gosh I want to get in the habit of doing that! Looking forward to seeing more... hitting the follow button :) so I can!
