PRIZES!!!

What a month June is!  With the boys finishing school, it is crazy!  Finals, different bus schedules, half days for large, and field trips, half days, band concerts, graduation from grade school for small, it is something every day!!

Last week was the last days.  I have hardly done anything because of this madness!!  But today I received the best happy mail ever!!!!

Fist, I went to the post office and saw a card in my post office box.  That means there is a package!!!!

Not one, but 2 packages!!!

I opened the small one first.  It was from Cindy Adkins!! 

What a wonderful little journal book!!  I am going to use it to put one positive thing that happened in my day, every day in it!!

Next, came the big box!!  A few weeks ago, I won some fabulous art supplies from Dawn!!! I knew I won, but not like this!!

This was a mixed media artists dream!!!  There was paper (some of it looks hand made!), wall paper samples, advertisements, calender pages, and it goes on and on!!  Then, there was10 rubber stamps, mini and regular size tags, tickets, small envelopes, coasters, art prints, board books and 2 more small books and a card and 2 ATC's!  There is tons more to say, but I have to stop!

GIVEAWAY!!!

I have seen so many blogs have been having problems last week.  I have had issues too.  But my LEAST favorite thing has been my "followers" (or friends as I call them).  I had more than 179, and it went down.  I saw several people say this too.  Or someone said that they asked people why they stopped following them.  All blogger issues.

So, I was going to have a giveaway when I hit 200 followers, but blogger doesn't want to get there.  I think it is very mean of blogger, and I don't think you should all have to suffer because of this!!!

I will be having a giveaway and fun news coming before the end of the week.  And it is a very exciting giveaway too!!  My first one was for 100 followers, and Debbie hooked me up with a fabulous etsy store owner Erin of Peony Wireworks for that giveaway.  So, I am having another etsy store owner for this giveaway!!!  YOU WILL LOVE HER!!!  Some of you probably know her!!  It will be awesome!!

PINK SATURDAY!!

I am running soooo behind today!!  Don't you just hate days like that???

But, I am happy to say,  I am still on time for Beverly's Pink Saturday!!!!  I am so excited for this party!!  I FINALLY found a cloche!!!  I did!!  I got so much great advice on where to find one, but I am in a very rural location, and I do get to our shopping place, but not as often as I'd like.  It is a long ride, and when I go I have a big list of things to do, and places to go, and I always forget to look for one!!!

Luckily, my friend Cindy Adkins, has an awesome etsy shoppe, and I got one there.  Delivered right to my door.  Perfect!!

I put pink rose petals inside, and pink sheer wire ribbon and my tissue taped stars, with pink spray ink.

And this gorgeous piece came with my cloche!!  Cindy sent me this beautiful piece, made on a hard covered book base.  I love the travel theme.  I guess this is my cloche's story!!  The story of it's travels!!

STEAMPUNK!!!

It is so good to be back!!  UGH!  It was horrible having no Internet for so long!!

I am having a love affair lately with Steampunk.  I have been mentioning it for a while, and while I had the time due to this Internet thing, I decided to get busy.

I have a tray started, and some ATC's and tags.  But today, I want to show you this mini album I made.  It is not your typical folded album.  It uses this really cool paper folding technique, so you actually have a front and back cover and pages inside.  I loved making it!!

UGH!!! HELP!! SOS!!!

I HAVE NO INTERNET CONNECTION IN MY HOUSE!  ACK!
I have sooo many comments to return, and I can't!!  I had Internet last night, and I sent one email.  Then, it stopped working.  I figured it was just one of those things.

Then, this morning, I had Internet for about half hour.  Gone again then.

I tried using my phone, but I am not that good, and after an hour of trying, I gave up.

SO.  I bribed my family into getting ice cream 20 minutes away, and I got wi-fi here!!

Please forgive me!!  I promise to get back ASAP

BUSY BUSY BUSY!!!

Whew, I am going like a maniac again!!  These last days of school are soooo busy!!! wow!!

I have been making little art pieces in my spare time lately.  I have made literally 20 things, like tags, ATC's, mini collages, cards, you name it!  If it is small and I can make it really quick, I've done it!!

I am showing you a tag and ATC today.  The first picture is great lighting, the next two?  I don't know what happened!!

HAPPY MONDAY!

What a week!!  My small son turned 12 on Friday!!  I know. 12.  Really?  Already? ugh.

So please forgive me, bloggy friends, if I didn't get to your blog as much as I usually do, or if I missed you.  I promise to see everyone this week, as usual!!

Last week,  I said I was going to show my treasures from my new favorite "junque" store.  But........... So, I will show them to you today for Debbie's Newbie Party!! 

The whole family came with Mr and I, which surprised me.  Large, age 14, never wants to go thrifting anymore!!  So, we went and everyone had fun, found treasures, and had a few giggles too!!

This is so fun!!  The wonderful tin drawers, and the height are awesome!  The color I will change.  I can't wait to put my crafty things in it!!

A pretty metal plate, a vintage frame and some pearls.  Just what every girl wants!

I was so excited to find this beautiful tassel doll!!  And she came with the stand too!!  I'm not sure if I want to hang her, or keep her on her stand yet.  A fabulous steal for 5 bucks!  And the 2 Life Magazines were a dollar each.  What wonderful ephemera I can use!!

A Hello Kitty photo album and silver doilies for a dollar each.  This calendar from 1991 of  Robert Doisneau's work was my cherry on top!!  I have a framed print of his in my bedroom.  I LOVE his pictures!  And this calendar has 12 different photos.  I plan on putting one of them in my new frame.  Again, only 1 dollar!!!!

WEDDING PARTY!!

What a beautiful day for a wedding!!  I am so excited to join

What a wonderful way to celebrate our wedding dreams, pictures, and wishes!!


I will be marred 20 years this September!!  How can this be you ask????  I was 21, and my husband was 24.  I was still in college.  I"ve loved him since high school.   It was a really special day.  Since this move, I can't find anything!!!!  4 months now, and I am still trying to dig myself out!!  SO, I only have one picture to show, it is the one I have in a frame. Instead,  here are some pictures of what my wedding might have looked like!!

First, we pick out invitations!!  I had teal trim and lettering, with a rose and pearls.  

Then,  we pick out flowers!  Again, mine were teal with white roses.  My colors were teal and jade!!

Then the place settings.  I made my own centerpieces!!

And last, the cake!!  I had teal frosted roses around the edge of this beautiful white cake.It was a 2 tier cake with champagne glasses holding up the top layer!!

Doesn't everyone have a picture like this?  I do!

Now, this is my actual wedding picture!

If you look at the picture in my "About me" page, I don't look too much different.  Older of course@!@  But I still have dark hair, and the same smile.  My hair is so big in that picture!!  All of my Jersey friends know, big hair is better!!  My scanner was having trouble, so I had to take a picture of my picture!!  How crazy was I?  A headband veil.  A poofy dress with puffy shoulders!!  Roses on those puffy sleeves!!  And the bustle?  WOW!!  GO ME 1991!!

I think this picture shows just how happy we were that day. 

But, if I did it all again, I would have THIS wedding!

What could be better than Hello Kitty and a friend being the best man and the maid of honor!!  THAT would be cool!!!

CREATIVE TUESDAY!

Hello and welcome to another Creative Tuesday!!!  This week, our prompt was "store front".  Store Front?!?!?!  I have zen doodled a bunch, collaged, done some mixed media, even did fancy lettering, always sort of trying to not actually do conventional art.  But store front?  How the heck am I going to do this one!!!!

Well, I tried the rational approach, trash one.  I tried it again, trash two.  The third time, I just said this is it.  I used my watercolor pencils, and sketched a store front, as best as I can.  I tried to add some textural touches, like bricks and a plant.  I wrote in fancy writing.  And I used water to turn the pencils into paint.  This is the result!

What do you think???  I  think it is good.  Perhaps just to me, but that is fine!  I am proud to be doing things I don't normally do.  That is why I am so committed to CT's blog!  I like working outside my comfort zone!  I never thought I would until Creative Tuesday.  You should definitely check it out.  You will totally be inspired!!

ZIP GETS A BATH!

My 10 pound mini dachshund is very maintenance free.  He has hair that is almost waterproof, he never needs to get brushed, he never smells weird, he is just the perfect dog!

But, every now and again, he does stink, like today, so he got his bath in the kitchen sink.

He fits in half of a double sink!  He is so good for daddy!

I almost can't stand it!  Him in a towel!  Look at his little arms!

And, I knowDebbie Doo loves dogs, so since I am linking up to her newbie party, I thought this was perfect!!

Now, a bit of art!

This time, the ArtChix were asking for art that is blue.  I decided to make this piece.

I started with recycled canvas, and painted it a cobalt color.  Added white, used bubble wrap to make clouds, and add texture.  Then, I ripped gauze and put it all around the clouds.   I added a large star that  I covered in Tim Holtz tissue tape.  I also stamped on part of the canvas.  I added some bits and trim, and an image from an ArtChix collage sheet.  I think it is kind of dreamy!

I will also be linking this to Smiling Sally's Blue Monday!  I hope she doesn't think it looks purple!
