WOYWW 180

Hello all!!  Welcome to another WOYWW!!!  If you want to know what I'm talking about, click the link and visit our hostess, the awesome, Julia.

I have been saving change since last November for Christmas.  I put it in my Hello Kitty bank.  It makes a fun noise when you put coins in it!!
I separated all the change on my work desk, and I found a $10 bill in there too!  I didn't put it there, and no one in my family did either, so they say.  I think Hello Kitty needed change and traded me for the bill.  However it got there is fine with me.

I was so excited, I was sure there was a lot of money.  In the end, including the $10, I only have $64.  For a whole year of saving?  UGH.  I understand it's better than nothing, but a whole year of change collecting and there is only $64 (really $54 in change)?
Lucky for the kids, it wasn't the only money I saved for Christmas! LOL!

I hope your saving efforts turn out better than mine!!!

Now go see the other wonderful desks at the party!

  1. This is so me...I love saving all my change and then counting it out. One year I had $167 dollars and that was awesome. Of course it is all relevant to how much I spend during the year. This year I only had $73 but I am thankful for that amount. Every bit helps. Happy Holiday Shopping Dear...

  2. You need to have the Canadian coin system - loonies ($1) and toonies ($2) they weigh so much they we get anxious to get rid of them! Sandi #29

  4. Imhave a Children's Society money box which we hand back in December every year. It doesn't matter how much or little is in it as every penny counts. I put all my coppers in and small silver coins. (uk)

  5. We do this too because I dislike lots of change in my purse. Mind you, I also dislike counting it afterwards, lol.

  6. That is not such a bad haul, especially with the extra $10 Daniella. Here in the Uk we have £2 coins (approx $3) so they add up quite fast and we use it at Christmas for presents. We save smaller coins too but they never add up to much either! Happy WOYWW, Anne x #65

  7. I think $64 is pretty good really for change saving. My daughter's bank rounds up the money when you use your debit card so she was telling me the other day she has almost $200 in savings because of that. Me? I am broke but happy anyhow! I have some Christmas bought but not near enough done! Thanks for sharing and have a great week. Vickie #63

  11. You need to start collecting more of those paper ones Daniella!!!! Hope you find something fabulous to spend it on. My Mum in law saves £2 coins - they soon mount up - It is funny as she now watches everyones change and offers to trade to get more of the prized coins!! ;-) Happy WOYWW to you from Helen 30

  12. At least it is enough for a treat you may not have got otherwise and I love the unexpected paper money. Enjoy spending it.

  13. Good for you, Daniella. I can tell you it's a ton more than any interest from the banks! I think it's a riot that you have a Hello Kitty bank for the purpose!!

I'll wish you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving now since I won't make it on WOYWW next week! Darnell #41

  14. Well, I think $64 is quite a good tally. And your Hello Kitty saving bank would thrill my little granddaughter who loves all things Hello Kitty ... it would perhaps encourage her to save too :) Hope you are having a good weekend. Elizabeth x #43
