BUTTERFLY...

I love this stamp set!!  "Love of Butterflies" is a beautiful and versatile stamp set from SinCity Stamps.  This month we were given some awesome Pan Pastels to use in our projects.  I have been having so much fun with them!!

SUPPLIES:
I gathered my supplies and used all 3 colors of pastels on my background, going from burnt sienna to yellow to green.  Then I stamped my butterfly in the center with Versamark ink.

Using a small sponge, I applied green pastel to the butterfly only.  I love how the color came out so much darker.

I stamped little butterflies all around the large butterfly with Versamark ink.  I applied a really light layer of yellow pastel to them.  When you stamp with Versamark on a background that already has pastel on it, the image shows up without having to apply anything.  Since it is clear it shows the pastels through it.

Here's my finished card again.  The stamps and pastels did all the work.  I just added some tiny pearls and a bow.

Have an awesome day!!

GNOMES!

I think I am the only person who has not created something with this super cute Gnomey from the Susan K. Weckesser stamp set What's Up Gnomey?!  We just finished the contest "Spot The Gnomey" here on the blog, how many Gnomey's did you find???

Backwards canvases are super fun to use.  Like a shadow box, but not as deep and not as perfect.  I make them often!  I've had the honor of having 3 of them published.  The imperfections in the back of the stretched canvas make it even better, I think.
He is just that adorable!!!  SSOoooo stinkin' cute!!

This canvas is a 6x6 stretched canvas from Canvas Corp.  I used 2 different sheets of Susan's "Live In Color" paper and adhered them to the canvas with Mod Podge. While this was drying, I colored in my Gnomies.

I used the "Beaded Curtain" stencil from The Crafter's Workshop with molding paste to get that circular pattern on the square canvas.  I applied some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist on top and finished with some splatter from Smooch Accent Ink.

A little Canvas Corp. Cord was wrapped around the top.  I cut out the 2 Gnomes and layered them with foam tape.  I layered some gauze, the gnome (s) and wood mushroom embellishments from Prima inside and added the sentiment to the bottom.  Life IS Wonderful!!

Thanks for visiting and have an AWESOME day!!

SPIKE!!

Hello!

I've made a layout for my one and a half year old dog Baby Puppy Spike, using papers from Moxxie.  Moxxie has tons of paper lines, including 7 new ones. I am using paper from 2 of the new lines, Volleyball and Brainiac.
When I got the Volleyball line and saw the "Spike It" paper, what else could I do?  I cut the paper smaller and distressed the edges.  I used a coordinating paper to put behind, "Volleyball Rules", and distressed it.  Don't you LOVE the colors?  I used paint and spray inks on the papers.  I also used a green piece of Moxxie diecut paper on the side.  It was distressed and inked too.

The bone paper clip on the top pulls out a journaling tag from the "Volleyball Cut Outs" paper.  I just wrote how Spike is so silly and it looks like he is smiling for the picture!

Close up of some of the details.  I outlined the word Spike with white marker, stamped on the diecut paper, added washi tape and a wood element.

The grid paper is "Mathlete" and the coark board paper is the reverse of the "Brainiac Cut Outs" paper, both from the Brainiac line.  Love the patterns and the appearance of texture from the cork.

My son is always saying Spike has "Swag", so this stamp came in handy!  I also stamped a frame at the bottom of the page.

Thanks for looking!  I hope you create something AWESOME today!!

MOXXIE MUSE FALL HOP!

Welcome to the Moxxie Muse Fall Blog Hop!  I made a fall card for my project.
I love this line!!  Autumn Glory is full of lush papers, stickers and alpha stickers too!  I used the "Bountiful Bouquet" and "Foliage in Flight" papers.  I fussy cut the flowers from the paper and layered them with foam squares.  I added a piece of Moxxie Die Cut Paper to the card before I added the flowers.

I also used SinCity Stamps "Terri Sproul Leaves" stamps and stamped them on the reverse of the "Foliage in Flight" paper.  I cut them too and layered them into my beautiful bouquet.

I stamped "Thankful For You" and attached it with foam squares.  I finished the card with pearls and leaf shaped gem embellishments.

A side view of my dimension.

TRICK OR TREAT CONTAINERS!

Are you getting ready for Halloween?

I made some coffin treat containers for The Robin's Nest, using their awesome products!!
I decided to make a fun little scene for my coffin treat containers!  The background is such a cool paper!  It is called Haunted House Cardstock.  I used the Halloween Rub Ons to put the words "Halloween Night" on the background.  I stood up a few Pumpkin Glitter Chipboard pumpkins in the background.  The tombstone is a sticker from the Halloween Stickers.  I put it on a scrap of paper and bent the paper so it would stand up.  Soooo many fun Halloween items in the Robin's Nest Online Store!

NOW, back to the coffins!!
I traced the shape on the back of these 3 papers, Purple Crackle Glitter CardstockPumpkin Heads Cardstock, and Spiderweb Glitter Cardstock.  I cut them out, folded the edges and glued them.

I like to use paper clips to hold my glued paper in place.

You can fill your coffin treat containers with candy or GHOSTS!!  Isn't that the cutest ghost ever?  He is a "Ghost Little Friend".  Super fun!  I added a few White Dew Drops to the top.

I love this paper!  I tied a piece of black seam binding around this treat box *don't want to lose any of the candy!!* and added a few Obsidian Diamond Dew Drops to the corners.

I added some gauze and flowers to the center of the coffin in the middle.  I also added orange Dew Drops, from the from the Halloween Dew Drops, around the whole edge.  Sweet!!

This may sound weird, but look at the glow coming off of the first coffin!!  Do you think the Little Ghost Friend is flying around his coffin?

I hope you enjoyed my treat boxes!!  Please be sure to check out all that The Robin's Nest has to offer for your Halloween crafting!!

SUSAN K. WECKESSER "BELIEVE"

Susan asked the design team to create something "mixed media" any way we wanted to this month.  I used several different techniques and mediums for this card.
I started with a piece of Susan K. Weckesser's Live In Color paper and a piece of Cordinations Cardstock.  I distressed the edges of both papers.  Then, I used  The Crafters Workshop, Folk Art Flower stencil.  I used molding paste from Golden and an old credit card to apply the paste through the stencil.  I LOVE how it came out!!

I used Tattered Angels Gilmmer Mist - Suede and Ranger Dylusions inks over the molding paste.  Awesome!  The orange, green and suede colors work wonderful together!  I also went around the edges of the paper with Ranger Distress Ink - Mustard Seed.  Some paint drops finished the background off.

When we got our design team packages from Susan, this card was inside.  I have been waiting for the perfect place to use it, and here it is!  The colors are gorgeous and the saying is so true, "Believe follow your dreams".  I also added some gauze behind it and a parenthesis stamp from Susan's A Little Grunge Love stamp set.  I finished it off with a flower.

I hope you are inspired to make awesome mixed media art today!!
