TOMBOW AND DCWV GOLD AND CORK HOP

Hi and Welcome to the Gold and Cork Blog Hop with Tombow USA and DCWV! We have 2 days full with gorgeous projects using GOLD and CORK! You probably came here from Karen Hanson's Blog, but if you happened to stumble across my blog go to the Tombow USA Blog (on Friday) DCWV Blog (On Saturday) to start!

We were given some awesome products from DCWV to use.  The DCWV Insta Photo Fun Album, DCWV Adhesive Cork Stack and DCWV The Gilded Paper Stack.
I used the Adhesive Cork first on the album cover.  I adhered a piece of Gilded Paper on top with Tombow's X-Treme Adhesive.  X-Treme Adhesive is 5x stronger than standard tape runners and adheres to a variety of surfaces, including cork.  I wanted to be sure my cover would stay strong.   I used Tombow Mono Multi Adhesive around the label to add glitter *awesome* and attached it with Tombow Foam Tape.

Inside, I added a few 4" x 4" pocket page protectors and the papers and cork from DCWV.  I added gilded paper to the insides of the album with my Tombow Stamp Runner.   I also made dividers for the album.  I cut 2 pieces of paper and attached them together with my Stamp Runner.  Isn't this album the cutest??

Now.... THE GIVEAWAY!!

To win, visit and comment on the participating blog posts. You have until March 31st at 11:59 EST to comment. A winner will be picked randomly and announced on April 1st 2015.

AN "ORGANIC" ART JOURNAL PAGE

If you didn't already know, Terri Sproul has a free art journal/canvas show every Tuesday night.  Check out her Facebook group All Things Terri Sproul to get all the details!  It is her birthday this week, so she isn't having a show.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY TERRI!!!

This art journal page I made for SinCity Stamps was inspired by Terri's show last week.  The show was called "Organic Look".

SUPPLIES:
Just as Terri showed on her show, I started by applying masking tape on my pages and covered them with Gesso.  The maksing tape gives the background the beginning of the "Organic Look" because it is irregular, like nature.

Because I didn't have large stamps for the flowers on my pages, I did some messy writing on the gesso, to take up space and write down something I wanted to remember.  I added India Ink to my Fineline Applicator and wrote on the page.

Then I painted over the writing with Halo Pink Gold and Pearl Turquoise.  I added glazing medium to the paints, painted them on and wiped them off with a baby wipe.  You really see the masking tape texture when you use glaze.

*sorry for the slight glare.  It's hard to not get a glare with metallic paints*

Like I said, I didn't have big stamps like Terri had, but I had a plan!  What if I took the tree branch from the "Hoot Owls" set and stamped it several times, making the look of a bush.  Then, I could turn the branch over and make some leaves and swirls at the bottom.  AND THEN, I could add the roses from the "Rosette Hearts" set and it could look like rose bushes!!  OH MY HECK!  This was going to be the most awesome thing I've ever made or the worst.  SO I just went all in, and got....

AWESOME!  I am so in love with this!  My vision is a total success!

I painted the flowers with Pearlescent Magenta and Metallic Gold in the centers.  WHAT?  Perfect!

But how to get that "Organic" look Terri talked about???  Flower Soft of course!!  I used Tombow Mono Multi Adhesive and a Fineline applicator to add glue, and sprinkled Flower Soft on top.

What do you get when the Flower Soft dries?  Awesome times 5million!!!

Here is a close up of my rose bushes with Flower Soft on the stems and leaves.

Don't you just love when a project comes together like this?  I love when this happens.  You get an idea and that idea sort of takes over.  Like it has a mind of it's own.  I love the excitement and the slight fear you get at the same time.  But when it turns out better than you expected it is priceless!!

I hope you let the art take you on a journey of excitement today!  You will love the results!

Hello Sunshine!

Hello Sunshine!  Are you ready for Spring??  I seriously can not wait.  The snow piles outside are too tall and are all dirty now.  The temperatures are so cold and the winds never seem to stop.  And for some reason, there hasn't been any sun in months.  I've never seen that happen.  It is grey skies all the time.  So yes, I am ready for Spring!!
I made this card for Moxxie, using their gorgeous "Springtime" collection.  I cut my card layers from the Dandelion Wishes and In Bloom papers and the sentiment is from the Springtime Cut-outs.

I've had this stamp and stencil set for a while now and thought a big orange flower would be perfect on this card!  When is an orange flower not perfect on any card?

First, I stenciled the flower outline on the paper.

Then, I stamped the flower in the center with white ink.  BOOM!  Instant awesome!  I added a few leaves and stuff to the flower with a marker.

Super fun card to spread some Spring Fever!!

TAYLORED EXPRESSIONS AND TOMBOW USA SPRING FLING BLOG HOP

Welcome to the Taylored Expressions and Tombow USA Spring Fling Blog Hop!

You probably came here from Joan Ervin's Blog, but if you just came to visit me, start at the Taylored Expressions Blog.  If you hop with us, you can win a PRIZE!!!

My card uses products from Taylored Expressions and Tombow.
I used the Taylored Expressions 6x6 paper pack, For Peeps Sake for my card.  I cut the papers and adhered them to the card with Tombow's Stamp Runner Dot Pattern Adhesive.  I diecut the scalloped ovals and popped the flower one up with Tombow Foam Tabs.  Then, I stamped the top one with Taylored Expressions Spring stamp.  But I didn't use an ink pad, I colored the stamp with my Tombow Dual Brush Pens ~ Brights.  I used a different pen on each letter and on the bird, flower and ladybug.
I thought the Taylored Expressions egg paper would look super cute die cut like eggs.  I adhered them with foam tabs too and I cut some green paper really thin so it looked like grass.  I used Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue to glue it to the card.  I finished up with Taylored Expressions For Peeps Sake Sequins.  I used the Mono Multi Glue to adhere them and to add glitter to the card.

And here is the Prize you can win!!
We have TWO awesome prize pack for TWO lucky winners!
To enter, leave some love on our participating designer Spring Fling Blog Hop project posts by 11:59 PST on Wednesday March 25th 2015.  For each comment, you'll receive an entry to win one of the 2 prize packs!  We'll pick 2 winners at random.  Here's what you can win:

KISS ME I'M IRISH!!

In my family, we love to show our Irish Pride when March rolls around.  Kiss me I'm Irish buttons, green shirts, corned beef and cabbage, Irish Soda Bread, all of it.  I have 3 grandparents who came here from Ireland.

I also love sharing the fun with some card making.
I made this card for Moxxie, using their "St. Patrick's Day" line.  I used 2 of the papers, "Kiss Me I'm Irish" (both sides) and "Shamrockin'".  I cut the papers in different layers and adhered them to the card.  I added a matching Moxxie Cardstock Sticker and finished with a button and a bow.

What are you going to do this St. Patrick's Day??  Whatever it is, have FUN!!

TIME FLIES ART JOURNAL PAGE

Hello!  Today I am sharing an art journal page for SinCity Stamps, using their stamps and stencils.

Supplies:

I started by applying my Primary Yellow acrylic paint to my journal with a water brush and let it dry.

Then I added some words to my background with my Fineliner.  I know it looks like scribbles but I know what it says *wink*.  I let this layer dry.

I applied some Gesso over the words with a palate knife.  And again, let it dry.

I framed the page with pink acrylic paint and a sponge.  I also added some pink paint to the inside of the pages.

When that was dry I sprayed the black spray ink through the heart stencil and let it dry.

Now I laid my stamps out to decide where to put them.  I don't know why but "Tempus Fugit" was in my head for days.  I took 4 years of Latin in high school, because I'm an idiot awesome *lol* and thought the roman numerals and the butterflies were so very fitting.  I stamped the stamps with black India ink.

I used the Terri Sproul Alphabets to write "Tempus Fugit" on the bottom which means Time Flies *i'm sure you all knew that*.  Time really does fly!  I feel like things are going by so fast lately it is making me dizzy.  I hope things start slowing down soon.  I like to cherish each moment.

Thank you for visiting!  I hope you are inspired by my page.  Please go to the SinCity Stamps store and get some of these amazing stamps!!  You will LOVE them!

FANCY LETTERING FOR TOMBOW!

This week, Tombow is having a fun "Lettering" week on the blog!  Lettering is sooo fun!  This is going to be AWESOME!

Here is my finished Lettering piece.
I love lettering!  I think it is a beautiful art form that I can only hope to master one day.  I still have much to learn. Using the Tombow Dual Brush Pens makes lettering so much easier!  The brush tip is perfect for long strokes and the fine tip is perfect for those fine lettering lines.

I started my lettering by dividing my paper into a grid.

As you can see, my letter A has a guide so I know how big to make my letter. I did this for the whole alphabet.

When I was done, I had 2 squares left, so I made some flowers with my Dual Brush Pens. I used the red to outline them and pink for the inside.  Then I used my blender pen to pull the color into each petal.

Here is my finished lettering again.

And here is a close up.  I like to add dots or shading to my lettering.  I used some dots around each letter.

Thanks for visiting!  I hope you visit the Tombow Blog and get inspired by the wonderful lettering you will find there!!

MOXXIE MARCH SPORTS MADNESS HOP!

Hello and welcome to the Moxxie March Sports Madness Hop!  All of the Moxxie Muses have made AMAZING Sports themed projects to share with you.  I know you will LOVE them all!

In my family, we love to "bet" on sports.  It isn't for money, of course, but something even better.  BRAGGING RIGHTS!! Of course, I always never brag when I win :)

We get together and make lists of our choices and who plays who and scores, etc.  And I keep the books when we are done because I am a hoarder like that.

This book uses all of Moxxie's new Basketball line.  I used all the papers, cut-outs and cardstock stickers.  I also used the white Alphabets for the title.  Check out the whole line below.  You really want to own this line for sure!!! Awesome!

Here is a collage of the book making process.  I cut all of my papers first.
The cover is 6 1/4" x 8 1/4" and the pages are 6" x 8".  I scored all the papers and folded them in half.  I poked 3 holes in the fold and did a pamphlet stitch.

Here is a collage of all the pages with the stickers.  I hope you like it!
