SMALL CANVAS

While playing with my Splash inks today I decided to spray onto a small canvas.  The canvas is 3x5 inches.  I found this stamp and  I just thought she looked ethereal so I gave her some wings, gauze, flowers and other bits and pieces, on the background of  ink and tissue tape.
I think she looks like she is floating behind the flowers.  Totally fun to make!  Thanks for visiting!

WOYWW

Hello fellow WOYWWers!!  It's the most fun day of the week!  The day we get to peek!!  Start here, at  Julia's blog and join the fun!!

I am in the middle of the crazy "end of the school year" madness right now.  My small son had his band concert tonight (he plays trumpet and is really talented!).  My large son gets inducted into the National Honor Society tomorrow night (I am smiling from ear to ear over this!  It is a HUGE honor!).  And next week Large also gets an academic award (we don't find out what for until then).  And they also have finals and other exams so it is CRAZY here!!  But only for a few more weeks.

I still had to work though!  The mess on my desk is from making THIS for Altered Arts Magazine.

So that's it from me.  I WILL visit everyone who visits me, no matter how late I might be.  I owe 3 people a comment already so that will be my priority today!
Have fun!!

ARE YOU SURE IT IS THE 19TH?

This was the question I asked my husband a few hours ago.  He surprised me with having 5 days off in a row last week and threw my whole routine off!!  Aside from a small vacation every year he never has more than the weekend off.  EVER.  And, sometimes he has to work then too!  So we had a lovely time and all the "must do" things I was doing got pushed aside!!

Then, today happened.  He says to me "is it the 19th or the 20th"?

??????????

WHAT???  I HAD a project due for Altered Arts Magazine on the 17th!  Oh No.

Good thing my boss is very nice!!
I love making backwards canvas shadow box type stuff.  Here, I used a bunch of the awesome sponsor products we got when we were hired.  I will leave a link to each item used at the end of this post.

I covered the edges with paper tape to start with and glued some shells and a flower in the corner.  Next, I stamped the image on white cardstock.  I love this stamp!  This bathing beauty stamp has almost a mermaid like look on her legs.  I colored her in and cut her out very close.  Before placing her in the backwards canvas with pop dots, I used a marker to color the canvas and I added gauze and some rope.  I placed another shell on the inside left.

And that is it!!  My husband goes back to work tomorrow and my boys don't have any more full weeks of school left this year!!  All of which makes my life easier!!

The supplies I used:

WOYWW 206

I should call this post "A Hot Mess".  My work desk and my whole studio are crazy messy!!

Not only am I working on several assignments, I am also trying to finish some work I'm doing just for me.  But, things are getting away from me and it is getting worse and worse.  My job now is going to be cleaning this up!

I have an appointment today and I have to go get ready so that's it from me.

If you want to see all the awesome work spaces and desks visit Julia.  She will tell you all about it!!

WOYWW

Happy WOYWW!  Please remember to visit our fearless leader Julia, without whom this party would not be possible.

Here is my desk.
Nothing much going on.  I have been so busy with my new puppy!!  If you want to read about that, click HERE.

Other than that, I got a lovely email from someone at Stampington & Company, telling me that I am in the current publication called "400 more ideas", formerly known as "The Stamper's Sampler Catch Up Issue.  She told me that I was in the magazine before I even got it!  I didn't have time to take pictures of the work inside (I have this superstition that I don't take pictures of my work before I send it in because I don't want to jinx it) so I will just tell you that I am on pages 30, 101, 116, and 120.  The work they picked I forgot I made!  I will take pictures and show them off soon.

SO, enjoy peeking and I will have a much more productive desk next week!
Thank you for all your lovely comments.  I answer every one!!

ANOTHER CARD

Everyone knows I LOVE Melissa Frances Products.  I have tons of her beautiful papers, resins, embellishments, stamps, books, ephemera and more.  I reach for her products so often that I keep the in a basket so I can get to them easily!  After making this card, I decided to send it in to her senior creative director Carolyn Peeler.  She is teaching in Italy right now (how cool is that?), but she wrote to tell me she was putting the card on the Melissa Frances Blog today!  They are just so sweet!  And Melissa Frances is so sweet too.  I've been chatting and messaging with her too.  Another busy woman.  She is going all around the country to conventions, trade shows and appearances at stores right now.  It is just a nice feeling to have people admire your work and take time out of their busy schedules to tell you that.

This card is about "Appreciate".  I Appreciate all of you who visit me!!!  Your visits and comments mean so much!!!

MONOPRITED CARDS

I know I've mentioned (like a million times) my love affair with monoprinting.  I had seen this technique on different blogs but I could never understand how to do it. Then, in an issue of Altered Arts Magazine the super awesome Trisha Too wrote a technique article on it and I've been hooked ever since.

Today, I am showing 2 cards I made from my monoprinted paper.
The one on the right was showing on a WOYWW post.  I LOVE the background!!  The "inspire" and the butterfly are stamps. I colored the butterfly and I used glossy accents over it.  The card on the left is also on an awesome background and I added a house I had left over from my "whimsical" project that was published in Somerset Studio.  The words are from an alphabet stamp set I have.

I hope you like the cards I've made for Altered Arts Magazine.  I have more wonderful projects to share so look for them in coming blog posts.  I also have some  wonderful news to share too!!

Hope you are having a fabulous weekend!!

I GOT A PUPPY!!!!

Yes I did!!  We got him on Monday.   He is a little "Shorkie", 4 pounds and almost 12 weeks old.  Sooooo cute!!   We named him Spike.  I call him Spikey usually.

They are not the best pictures.  It is hard to get a picture of a puppy who is always running!
Marshall is holding him.  What a sweet face!

When he is lying down you almost think he is a rug!!!

Since my mini dachshund Zip will be 9 in September, I thought he would love a puppy!

He is sticking his tongue out in this action photo.  Maybe I was wrong about him wanting a puppy?

It is a little hard for Zip to adjust, but so far we are doing fine.  Spikey is just the sweetest puppy ever.  He already knows his name, and the meaning of the word NO.  It is a good beginning!  And he likes to give me lots of kisses.  I'm so happy we got him!!!
