Hello Friends! Today I want to share an art journal piece I made using the Art Journaling with Terri Sproul 2 set and a stamp from the Love of Butterflies set.
I just wanted to show you why the Terri Sproul Art Journaling 2 set is so awesome. There are a lot more stamps than the one's I'm showing with this set, but I wanted to show that the set comes with several stamps that are prompts! If you are stuck for a theme in our journal, you can just stamp one of these and roll with it!! I am showing 7 different journal prompts here and a few of the large stamps. I used the writing, the brick wall and the beautiful flourish. LOVE this set!!!
I gathered my supplies. I used my new Dylusions Journal and my Gelatos that I got from Altered Pages, my stamps and my Stewart Superior ink pads. I used the black India Ink pad and the Memories dye ink pad in the color Crimson. Last was a piece of Kraft paper from Bazzill.
I stamped the writing stamp first, lightly with the black ink. Then, I stamped the brick stamp, harder on top.
Did you know? You can squish your Gelatos on your craft mat, add water and make paint? YES YOU CAN!! I squished some red and a little black to make a brick color. Added some water with my mister and mixed and squished with my palate knife.
After I paint it on and it dries, I like to buff it with a paper towel. It gets the paper bits that may be on the page off and brightens it up a bit. Do you see that I left a hole in the center of my brick wall? I did that so the butterflies could get out!!
I stamped 3 butterflies using the Crimson ink. I folded 2 in half and cut one in half. I glued one half of the folded butterfly to each side of the "hole". Then, I glued the half down on each side. Keep the folded half down when you close the journal so every time I open the journal a butterfly will pop up! I hope I explained this well enough!
Can you see what I was explaining now? You can see the half of wing is up and there is still a wing on the page. I think it is pretty cool!! And I used the pretty flourish stamp on the top right corner and the lower left corner. I wrote "Fly..Be Free" on the bottom.
Thanks so much for visiting us today!! I hope you get your SinCity Stamps today!!
Fab spread Danielle and a great step by step!
