ART JOURNAL WEDNESDAY!!!

Welcome everyone!!  Thanks for visiting my art journal Wednesday!!  Today, I have another color page.  I got the idea from Julie of Balzer Designs Blog.  She does "Art Journal Every Day" too.  Check her out.  One of her posts was about her color journals.  This had me thinking about how cool this would be!!!  I've done the inside and cover page, pink and blue.  Now, I did yellow!!  I think the color yellow is nice, but not usually my first color choice.  And yet, this was my favorite color page so far!!  All I could think of is the song "Yellow" by Coldplay.  So, I wrote on the left page "it was all Yellow".  I used yellow paint, and yellow marker, yellow patterned packing tape, brown gaffers tape with yellow diamonds, and of course, my paint samples.  But this time, I punched flowers and used them.  I used the yellow marker to write the names of the color next to the flowers!!!
Now, someone in blog land, said  once, that they always make an ATC while making a project.  They use the left over paint, or any supplies, and get a little extra piece of art!!  SO WHOEVER YOU ARE, PLEASE TELL ME, SO I CAN GIVE YOU CREDIT!!

Here is my ATC.

The paper says "Reliable Sunflower Correspon."  I figured it was correspondence.  How fitting with the flowers!!  So I used the negative from the punch and added it here.

I hope everyone is having a great week!!  And I'm sorry if I don't get to everyone this week.  With the boys home for spring break, it is not as easy to get the quiet time to visit and read all of you!!  I promise to keep moving along this week!  See you all soon!!

  7. WOW, now that is yellow!!! I love it!!! I never thought about making ATC's with left overs, but on one of Pam Carriker's videos or in her book maybe, she talked about using left over paint to start other projects and to gesso and paint multiple substrates at one time, that way you only dirty the brush once instead of many times throughout the week. She said it also helps to have a canvas ready to work on instead of having to wait for it to dry. So anyway if that all makes sense, I do that now so I have more than one thing I can work on at a time.

Thanks for stopping by. My spring break has already come and gone.......... another fly by:-) But today was nice because we start late on Wednesdays, so it gives me a little extra time in the mornings.

Enjoy the rest of the week. Take Care

    Hugs, CL

  8. Love the bright colour, I'm a big fan of yellow (and orange/red/pink) lately... Oh, and I think it was me dear, who said she uses the left overs for ATC's. But I think lots of people do that, so it could be others who told this on a blog too...

  10. Wow. Cool that you're doing the "art journal a day" thing. I like your yellow page. I also like that you're making an atc with your leftovers. That's how I started cardmaking, using my leftovers from scrap pages. Now I don't scrap any more (or haven't in a while).
